About me

I’m Monmon, an independent designer, artist, and dancer at heart.

DEF started with a pair of earrings I made for a night out. One warehouse disco, three compliments, and a DM later, I realized I wasn’t the only one on the hunt for jewelry that hit harder.

I grew up spending summers at my grandma’s pearl farm in China. Now I handcraft pieces in NYC that blend softness with bite… just like you!

Each piece is handcrafted in our Brooklyn studio with bold shapes, vibrant gems, natural pearls, and playful pendants that move with you.

Inspired by dance floors, street fashion, and the chaotic creativity of #WhatIsNewYork, DEF is genderless, fearless, fun, and always a little extra. Style it your way, for parties at the Mirage, your first Tinder dater, or just a bodega run.

Most pieces are handcrafted by Monmon in Brooklyn. The rest are produced by trusted partners in small batches to keep quality high and waste low. We use ethically sourced pearls, recycled metals when possible, and materials chosen with care.

We may not be perfect, but we’re always evolving. By continuously seeking better ways to create boldly while treading lightly, we aim to deliver jewelry you can feel good about: not just for the style, but for what it stands for.
